The Diploma - The Certification - The Next Step

As life folds curious shapes it's hard to see what will become- like an origami in process. 4 years of Chinese Medical training has ended and my NCCAOM national exams overcome. The diploma and certifications begin to attract the first particles of light and dust. Oh, how plans have changed- They say "if you want to make "God" laugh tell him you have a plan." I saw myself in Hangzhou by now working on my PhD, living on the West Lake and sipping some Dragonwell tea but instead I'm here in California waiting for the next few days to pass until I move. Taipei will be my new home where I will be sipping Oolong instead of Dragonwell and taking a big step toward my maturity as a Chinese Medical practitioner. How did this big shift in plans come about? Perhaps it's to soon to say but, it is a combination of grass roots research, a girl, opportunities opening and people I happen to meet over that last few months. I've decided to seek a master of Chinese medicine to apprentice. Taiwan will be the ground upon which my journey will begin. I have an apprenticeship all set up there for the time being. Where that will go and how things will manifest- I have no clue. I believe arriving is the most important ingredient, surviving the second and thriving, the third. On top of my search for a master I will attend National Taiwan University where I will begin to take Mandarin Chinese language classes so I can open doors with doctors, understand the culture and be able to read the classics of Chinese medicine. I'm about to carve a whole new chapter in my tree of life. I'm excited to be living in Taiwan and with such a good friend as Eric showing me the ropes, i think I'm off to a good start. There is so much to look forward to and none of it would be possible without my family. I love them for nourishing my life and I am forever grateful....
